Booking an Appointment with us

Our clinic is a private practice operating within RPA Hospital.

As such, all appointments require a valid referral from either your General Practitioner or another Specialist. We will not be able to book your appointment without receiving your referral first.

Please send your referral with your contact details to us, either via email or fax (02 9515 5278).

Alternatively, you can get in contact with us about making an appointment using the form below.

Please note we do not remove melanomas that have already been diagnosed. If you need to have a melanoma removed, please contact the Sydney Melanoma and Surgical Oncology clinic for treatment options.

Fees & Billing

As we are a private practice, all consultations and procedures will incur a fee.

Consultation fees vary depending on the doctor. For details of the individual costs, please contact us.

Procedure fees will vary depending on the type of procedure, the location of the lesion, and the size of the lesion. As such, we cannot quote an estimate without one of our doctors seeing you first.

If any procedures are required following your consultation, we will give you an estimate with details of your out-of-pocket expense and Medicare rebate prior to the procedure.

Pension Cardholders

If you hold a government pension card, then you may be eligible for bulk billing.

You will need to bring your card with you to your appointment so we can verify your eligibility.

Bulk Billing applies to any service that has a Medicare item number - this includes consultations and most procedures.

Please note that photography is not covered by Medicare, therefore cannot be bulk billed. We do offer a discount for these services to our pensioners. For more information about our photography services, please click here.

Confocal Microscopy
and LC-OCT appointments

Confocal Microscopy and LC-OCT* are specialised scans of a lesion of concern that require a referral from your doctor.

This referral must request Confocal Microscopy or LC-OCT specifically, and describe the location of the area of concern (photos are encouraged for clarity). Any previous scans or tests done on the area are also required to aid in the diagnosis.

Steps for booking an appointment:

  1. Send your referral either via email or fax (02 9515 5278).
Please include your contact details (phone and email) and details of any travel contingencies.

  2. Your referral will be triaged by our doctors (This will take 1-2 business days)

  3. Once triaged, you will be put on the waiting list. If the scan is urgent, you will be put on the top of the list.

  4. A member of our team will contact you with the next available timeslot. This may take up to 6 weeks depending on our waiting list. Please note that our clinic will come up as a Private Caller on your phone.

Confocal Microscopy and LC-OCT are non-invasive scans which use a laser to scan the top layer of skin (the epidermis). They do not require any fasting, anaesthesia or surgery.

For more information about these scans, click here for Confocal Microscopy, and here for LC-OCT.
